The polyacrylonitrile fiber is made from the raw material of polyacrylonitrile resin via special processes. The requirement on pavement quality is higher and higher coupled with the increase of transport volume, especially that of heavy vehicles, while an important method of improving the pavement durability is adding stabilizing additive into the asphalt mixture. The polyacrylonitrile fiber is not only an additive, but more can ameliorate the structure of asphalt colloid, thus able to reinforce and adsorb asphalt, etc. when applied to asphalt mixture, which conduces to improvement on high-temperature stability and binding power. Its use as reinforcing rib material in the cement concrete can effectively suppress the early plastic crack and desiccation fissure of concrete, enhance its toughness and shock resistance and ameliorate frost resistance and impermeability and other endurance qualities of concrete, hence its more extensive application to engineering construction of road, bridge, tunnel, water conservancy, quay port, industrial and civilian construction, etc.
